Marharyta Lymar is a Candidate of Political Sciences (Ph.D.), Associate Professor at the Department of English Philology and Translation at Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (Mykolaiv, Ukraine).

Education & Academic Degrees

She holds two Master’s degrees with honours from Petro Mohyla University – in International Relations (2012) and Philology (2022). In 2019, she successfully defended her dissertation on “The American Factor in European Integration Processes during Barack Obama’s Presidency” (specialization 23.00.04, Political Problems of International Systems and Global Development). In October 2024, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor at the Department of English Philology and Translation of Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University.

Teaching

Her teaching activities cover a wide range of courses in translation studies, philology, and international relations, and specialized courses on leadership and academic integrity. She also developed and taught the special course “The USA in the Foreign Policy of European Countries” for International Relations students.

Research Interests & Publications

Dr. Lymar is the author of around forty academic publications in political science, international relations, history, and translation studies, including four articles indexed in the Scopus database. Her research interests include U.S. and EU foreign policy (with a focus on the U.S. role in European integration), issues of national and international security, identity, as well as translation of socio-political and academic discourse.
